Why we exist
If you live with hearing loss — single-sided deafness, partial hearing, an auditory processing difference — you know the moment.
The crowded restaurant. The noisy classroom. The person on your bad side. The quiet ask: could you say that again? The slightly louder repeat. The look. And the small, exhausting explanation that follows.
Hearing Ribbon began as one family’s response to a thousand of those moments. We wanted a single, beautiful symbol that could speak for us — so we could spend our energy on connection, not explanation.
Our promise
- Promote understanding. The Hearing Ribbon makes invisible needs visible — without shame, without stigma.
- Support community. Every piece is built with input from people who hear differently, for people who hear differently.
- Inspire change. A portion of every sale supports hearing awareness initiatives, education, and accessibility.
What’s ahead
We’re launching with six pieces — a signature necklace, directional pieces, a silicone awareness bracelet, a backpack clip, an awareness pin, and a school lanyard kit. Each one is designed to start a conversation, or politely sidestep one when needed.
In the years ahead, we’ll grow into school programs, clinic partnerships, awareness campaigns, and a long-term Hearing Ribbon Awareness Fund. The symbol comes first. The movement follows.
People shouldn’t have to explain to be understood.
Together, we change that.
